About Foster Keeper

Our Value Proposition

Foster Keeper is for individuals who want to save lives and value saving time. Foster Keeper is a web-based program that reduces your stress and workload by helping you find open foster homes for animals more quickly, and communicate with your organizations’ fosters and volunteers more efficiently due to our unique foster preference filtering and texting/email feature as well as user-friendliness design that was personally developed by an experienced Foster-Rescue Coordinator that worked in one of the highest kill shelters in the USA.

Our Vision

We believe that homeless animals can be saved one foster home at a time and that helping the people saving lives is just as crucial to making a difference.

Our Mission

We're on a mission to help Foster Coordinators at animal shelters and rescues be efficient, less stressed and save more lives.

We Believe in Social Entrepreneurship

We innovate to help people that are saving animal lives be more efficient and less stressed because their lives and emotional well-being matter to us too. As Foster Keeper becomes more established in the market, we will give back to the organizations, amazing Foster Coordinators, and superstar Fosters that are a part of the animal rescue community.

Our CEO & Founder

Alejandra Peimbert started Foster Keeper in 2016 after attending Texas Unites Conference in Austin, Texas. Using all her savings, she relaunched in 2021 after the covid pandemic hit Houston as she saw the levels of fostering increase to never before levels and knew Foster Keeper would be key to helping save lives and aid the already stressed shelter staff.

Alejandra has a bachelor's in International Relations and minor in Political Economics from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, speaks three languages and has always loved animals. She joined BARC Animal Shelter in Houston for three years as their first Humane Education Coordinator, a Foster-Rescue Coordinator and TNR Coordinator (so she gets it), and saved over 5,000 animals from the euthanasia list. In 2017 left to complete a Master's in Corporate & Marketing Communications in Madrid, Spain.

Alejandra wrote articles as freelance writer for best4pets.org and in 2020, worked at the Houston Humane Society (HHS) as Assistant Marketing Manager. She served as the spokesperson for HHS and completed several live TV and radio interviews in english and spanish.

Alejandra enjoys fostering immature puppies, bottle baby puppies, kittens, and hopes you fall in love with fostering as well!
